Youth capacity building on project development and management

The Gambia National Youth Council (NYC) in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Senegal (KAS) organised a two-day capacity building workshop for regional youth committees and national youth organisations on project development and management. The training brought together forty (50) youth leaders from across the seven (7) local administrative regions in the Gambia. The objective of the training was to:

  • Build the capacity of regional youth committees and national youth organisations to develop and implement projects within their respective communities successfully,
  • Encourage regional youth committees and national youth organisations to  align their projects and activities according to the priority areas of the youth policy and national development plan 2018-2021,
  • Strengthen the resource mobilisation capacity of regional youth committees and national youth organisations to source the needed financing for their projects and activities,
  • Enhance the advocacy, communication and networking skills of selected regional youth committees and national youth groups to advocate, communicate and work together on developmental challenges facing their communities and that of their organisations.

This is part of many activities jointly organised by NYC and KAS to enhance the capacity and knowledge of youth leaders to develop and implement projects within their respective organisations successfully so as to contribute to the development of their communities and the Nation as a whole.
