Involvement of young women and men in peace processes and decision-making in the Gambia

The Gambia National Youth Council in partnership with the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), as part of the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions 2250 (2015) and 2419 (2018), conducted awareness raising and sensitization activities on the contents of the two resolutions related to Youth, Peace and Security among youth and other stakeholders, as well as promoted the involvement of young women and men in peace processes and decision-making in the Gambia.

Within the framework of the partnership, National Youth Council is assigned to undertake the following activities;  

  1. Translation into at least one local language of resolutions 2250 (2015) and 2419 (2018) on Youth, Peace and Security  
  2. Production and / or adaptation of the tools of popularization of the resolutions  
  3. Awareness-raising activities (to be specified by each country)
  4. Communication (radio, tv, Internet, etc.)
  5. Compilation of data, information and complementary needs to finalize the national report and the mentoring program for young women and men (Method / approach to be specified by each country)
  6. Organize workshop for validation of the national report and mentoring program for young men and women
  7. Publication of the report (Each country to see)
