PILOT TECHNOLOGIES THAT SUPPORT YOUTH INCLUSION IN GOVERNANCE AND MITIGATION OF VIOLENCE

A day training was conducted today at the Kanifing Municipality Chambers on Techniques that Support Youth Inclusion in Governance and Peace-building. The gathered 75 participants from KM, BJL, WCR and National Youth Organisation who were taken through Barriers of Youth Participation in Governance by Basiru Jaye (National Youth Council) and The Role of Young People in Maintenance of Peace-Building By Elizabeth Kinta Gomez (Peace Hub The Gambia).

The training aimed to challenge the participants in strongly involve in governance and also in the maintenance of peace.

The training which is funded by UNDP through Peace-Building fund was officially opened by a panel comprises the Deputy Mayor of KMC Her Worship Binta Janneh Jallow, Ms Isatou Secka Chairperson of KMYC, Mr. Omar Bah Programme Officer Peace, Security and Justice and Mr Basiru Jaye Programme Officer ICT & Innovation.
