Safe Hands for Girls
Safe Hands for Girls, is a women-led organization that was founded in 2013 to fight against Female Genital Mutilation, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) and other forms of gender-based violence, through programs and activities that address the many factors that perpetuate it. We design and implement programs where we provide support for survivors to address the health and psychological impacts of FGM, operate community-driven programs to create greater awareness and promote social change, and invest in the capacity of youth to lead and drive that change. Safe Hands For Girls also advocates for policy change in the Gambia and contributes to global campaigns and partnerships to end FGM by 2030.
